This proposal would amend City of Boulder Ordinances Chapter 10, which relates to “Pesticide Use,” by adding language to protect birds, bees and other pollinator species whose populations have been in severe decline in Colorado and globally. This update would creates a mechanism, a pesticide tax modeled on the sugar tax, to fund the purchase of native plants and non-toxic native seeds to be used to expand pollinator pathways.
